Orthopedic Surgeons

Joel W. Renbaum, M.D.,QME, Medical Director

Dr. Renbaum received his education at Johns Hopkins University and graduated from medical school at the University of Maryland in 1968. He was Board Certified in Orthopedic surgery in 1974 after a residency at combined program at the U.S. Public Health Service and Tulane University. He then went into private practice in San Francisco. He has extensive experience in the Workers' Compensation arena both in treating and evaluating patients.

In addition to general orthopedics and injury care, he has a special interest in treating injured workers with knee and shoulder problems. He is a Qualified Medical Evaluator.


 


William R. Campbell, D.O., QME

After attending the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine at Midwestern University, Dr. Campbell did his Orthopedic Surgery residency as part of the Michigan State University system. Later, he completed his Spine Surgery Fellowship at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. Dr. Campbell specializes in treating injured workers with a wide variety of orthopedic conditions.  The majority of his treatment and surgical practice is devoted to those with shoulder, knee, and non-surgical spine problems. Dr. Campbell creates a partnership with patients so they understand their injury and their treatment options. Dr. Campbell's treatment approach focuses on consideration of conservative modalities before proceeding with surgical options. Dr. Campbell performs minimally invasive procedures such as arthroscopic knee and shoulder surgery.

 

Joseph M. Centeno, M.D., Q.M.E.

Dr. Centeno is an Orthopedic Surgeon trained at the UCLA School of Medicine. He recieved honors in Orthopaedic Surgery, Surgery, Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. Prior to UCLA, Dr. Centeno earned his undergraduate degree at the University of California at Berkeley where he was on the Deans List and graduated with distinction. Maintaining his residency at Stanford University before working at Kaiser Permanente, Dr. Centeno ads a vast array of expertise and experience to our team of professionals.

 

 


Robert S. Ferretti, M.D., QME

 

Dr. Ferretti received his medical degree at New York Medical College. He completed a general and Orthopedic surgery residency program that included pediatric orthopedics at St. Charles Children's Orthopedic Hospital in New York and trauma reconstruction at Fitzsimmons Army Medical Center in Colorado. He began private practice in San Francisco in 1971 at French Hospital Medical Center where he served as Chairman of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery from 1981-1987. Teaching and supervising orthopedic residents has been an integral part of his practice.

 


 

Teodoro Nissen, M.D.

Upon graduating from University of California at Berkeley, Dr. Nissen attended medical school at the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine. Practicing Orthopaedic Surgery at UCSF and St. Luke's, Dr. Nissen has extensive experience focusing on Sports, Trauma and Arthoplasy. Dr. Nissen is involved in the education of medical students, residents and fellows, evaluate patients in Sports Medicine/Trauma Clinic and is involved in weekly trauma teaching conferences at UCSF.

 

 
 

Santi Rao, M.D.

Dr. Rao is Spinal Surgery specialists certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. Highly qualified and well respected, Dr. Rao brings to our practice a wealth of experience drawn his tenure in academic, private practice, and hospital settings. More than just a skilled surgeon, Dr. Rao’s approaches all spinal consults carefully and thoughtfully. By providing a thorough evaluation, including detailed analysis of symptoms and history he is able to provide the patient and referring provider a sound diagnosis and comprehensive treatment plan including non-surgical options.

 

 



Paul B. Roache, M.D.


Dr. Roache is board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons and is a fellow in the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He is an associate member of the Arthroscopic Association of North America and is fellowship trained in shoulder and upper extremity surgery. Roache’s main subspecialty focus is in arthroscopic treatments of rotator cuff disorders, frozen shoulder and shoulder dislocations. In addition, he has strong specialty interest in the arthroscopic treatment of sports medicine injuries to the knee.

 

 


 

 Eddie Yuti Lo, M.D.

Shoulder Joint Specialist, Sports Medicine  for Hip & Knee. Dr. Eddie Lo received his medical training at Columbia University and completed his orthopedic residency at UC Davis. He subsequently completed two years of fellowship training in Los Angeles and Dallas, specializing in sports medicine and shoulder surgery, respectively.  He abides by his mentors' philosophy that “the diagnosis comes from the patients’ stories" and "treat your patients as you would your family." Through 10 years of medical training, Dr. Lo has gained extensive   general orthopedic expertise with a specialty in  treating all shoulder conditions as well as athletic hip injuries.  

He has had the privilege of publishing multiple book chapters, presenting his original scientific research at international conferences, and instructing in surgical training sessions. He is a Bay Area native, a staunch Cal Bears fan, and fluent in Chinese Mandarin and conversational Taiwanese.
